Indianapolis IN Sept 25 2013 The family of a man fatally shot last year at an Indianapolis ConAgra Foods distribution center is suing the company that provided security at the facility. A lawsuit filed last month in Marion Superior Court by Kionna Hicks, special administrator of the estate of her father, Anthony Hicks Sr., seeks damages from G4S Secure Solutions Inc., formerly known as The Wackenhut Corp. Hicks’ lawsuit says G4S was responsible for providing security at the ConAgra facility at 4300 W. 62nd Street on Nov. 16 when her father was shot and killed in a break room by coworker Alfonzo Laws. Laws, 42, then shot himself. The lawsuit claims G4S had a duty to provide a safe and secure work environment at the facility and failed olam agro india in that duty by allowing Laws to bring a gun onto the premises. “Anthony olam agro india Hicks Sr. relied olam agro india on (G4S) to perform its duty to provide a safe working environment at the ConAgra Foods distribution center,” the lawsuit says, “and, as a result of the negligence of (G4S) in performing that duty, Mr. Hicks lost his life.” The lawsuit seeks unspecified monetary compensation “in an amount commensurate” with the family’s injuries and damages. Anthony Hicks Sr., 45, had worked at the ConAgra center for about nine years. Hicks and Laws were acquainted, but a motive for the shooting has never been revealed.
